Lee Bowyer admitted he’ll be heeding advice from former Charlton boss and Addicks legend Alan Curbishley this international break.
Following Charlton’s 2-2 draw at Fulham on Saturday, the Championship takes a break as Euro qualifiers take precedence.
Relatively new to management and rightfully delighted with how the season has gone so far, Bowyer admitted he’ll be taking on board advice from the man who led Charlton through a successful period in the top-flight at the turn of the millennium.
“Curbishley told me when I took over, ‘you need to take break, when you get a chance to take a break, you take it, you need to, so I’m taking his advice,” Bowyer said.
“I’ve been working crazy hours, watching game after game after game, doing homework, which is my job.
“But there comes a point you get burnt out, same as the players.
“You need to take a rest.
“So 100% I’ll be taking a break.”
Currently sitting four points off top spot, who would say he doesn’t deserve it.
