Steve Cooper feels sides will find The Valley a tough ground to pick up points at despite his Swansea outfit leaving with all three.

Strikes from Yan Dhanda ad Andre Ayew cancelled out Jonathan Leko’s early opener but was full of praise for Lee Bowyer and his newly promoted side.

The Swansea boss, whose side went top with the win, nodded with approval on hearing it was only the second league defeat Charlton suffered at home in 2019.

“I’m not surprised by that stat at all,” he said.

“They beat Leeds here at the weekend with a great result, so anyone who picks up points here, a draw or a win, it’ll be a good day’s work.

“Fair play to Charlton, I spoke to Lee (Bowyer) before the game ad he’s a good guy, doing good things and it’ll be a tough place to come this season.

“It’s a good three points.

“It was a good atmosphere, the crowd got behind the team, a team who are used to winning.

“We gave ourselves a difficult start going behind early, so to reply as we did and give a performance like that is pleasing.”
