Charlton may enjoyed a successful deadline day in the transfer window, but their dealings aren’t yet finished according to Lee Bowyer.

The Addicks boss, alongside instrumental Head of Recruitment Steve Gallen, confirmed three signings on Thursday with potentially one more coming through the Valley gates.

Jonathan Leko, Sam Field and Beram Kayal all arrived at Sparrows Lane before the window closed, but Bowyer confirmed there may be more to come with the club still waiting to hear if Tomer Hemed’s signing has been confirmed.

Brighton’s Hemed is deemed surplus to requirements on the south coast, and having spent last season on-loan at QPR, it’s though the Gulls would be willing to part with the 32-year-old Isreali.

“It’s one that we don’t know what’s happening,” he said.

“Its complicated but we are trying to work with FA to get it done.

“It’s still a possibility and we are confident it can happen but it’s out of our hands.”

Bowyer on Duchatelet's importance ein Taylor stay

The Charlton boss also admitted they felt they were close to completing two other signings only to lose out ‘at the death.’

One player Charlton did attempt to lure to the Championship was Peterborough’s Ivan Toney.

“Ivan was someone we were interested in but not one of the two we didn’t get.

“We made offers for him but we were never going to pay more than the lad’s worth, so we went to what we thought was right for him, and we stopped there.

“He’s Peterborough’s player, and they’ve got their valuation, just like we have on Lyle Taylor.”

Bowyer has often said he wants two players for each position, one position where he does need to find a player is at right back after Anfernee Dijksteel’s move to Middlesbrough earlier in the week.

With club captain Chris Solly the only out-and-out right back now at the club, Bowyer, although aware Deji Olishaja can fill the role, was keen to venture into the free-agent market.

“We need to bring in a right back, I didn’t want to use a loan space for a right back.

“There’s a few out there on a free, so well look at that, but looking at the squad compared to last week, it’s completely diff and we are a lot stronger.”
