Crystal Palace have sounded out two possible replacements for Aaron Wan Bissaka.
Roy Hodgson has got to work on finding a right back to fill the void left by the full-back who moved to Manchester United in a £50million deal last month.
The Eagles boss has reportedly expressed an interest in Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne and Chelsea’s Reece James.
Clyne has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield since the emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold and spent the second half of last season on-loan at Bournemouth.
Hodgson knows the former Palace man well from his time as England boss when Clyne was in the set-up.
It’s thought Liverpool would only be interested in a permanent deal as they look to recoup a large portion of the £12.5million they paid Southampton for of the 28-year-old they bought for £17million four years ago.
Clyne made over 100 league appearances for the Eagles, coming through the ranks at the academy before moving to Southampton in 2012 and later to Liverpool.
Reece James
Chelsea’s James, who came through Chelsea's academy, impressed on loan at Wigan Athletic last season making 45 appearances in the Championship.
According to reports Palace keen to sign the 19-year-old although it’s thought Chelsea are reluctant to let anybody leave the club with the transfer ban hanging over the West London outfit until next summer.
Palace would not be alone in chasing the England Under-21 international, with Burnley and Brighton both monitoring the full-back's situation.
