Crystal Palace are close to the completion of signing forward Jordan Ayew from Swansea City but it's reported they are in the frame to land another striker.

Ayew's transfer is expected to be a formality when he arrives back from the African Cup Of Nations with the deal agreed by all parties.

The Ghanaian spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park scoring one goal in 20 league appearances.

Despite the unfavourable goalscoring statistic, it's thought Roy Hodgson sees the fee of around £2.5million as good value for the 27-year-old who Swansea also want off their wage bill.

The former Aston Villa man lead the line for the Eagles for a large part of the season with first choice strike option Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham injured for the first half of the season.

Ayew fell down the pecking order after the loan arrival of Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi but with options limited the deal for Ayew is seen as a shrewd investment by both Hodgson and Chairman Steve Parish.

Borini the answer?

Ayew's imminent arrival hasn't stopped Hodgson looking at strengthening his front line further, as it's been reported that Palace are eyeing up a deal for AC Milan's former Chelsea, Liverpool and Sunderland man, Fabio Borini.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Palace have enquired over the Italian's availability

The 28-year-old would command a fee of around £15million, money Palace have after the sale of Aaron Wan Bissaka to Manchester United last month.

Fans however are not too convinced the player with a record of 17 goals in 93 appearances for Sunderland and has just eight in 72 games in Milan is worth pursuing.
