Crystal Palace are one of six Premiership sides chasing West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez.

The Eagles have joined Leicester, Sheffield United, Norwich, Bournemouth and Rodriguez’ former employer Burnley ion the hunt for his signature.

Scoring 22-goals in a personally successful season at The Hawthorns, the 29-year-old would be available for a as little as £5million.

Despite having two years left on his current deal in the west midlands a clause in his contract could see the forward on the move after the Baggies failed to gain promotion.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley saw a reported £15million bid turned down last summer and they look to re-new their interest in the attacker who played over 100 games in a five year stay at Turf Moor.

Palace legend urges club to sign 26-cap England international

Palace, who have Connor Wickham and Christian Benteke as the only recognised strikers on their books, are known to be looking to bolster their front line and are reportedly keen to take advantage at the cut price deal.

Roy Hodgson's side struggled in front of goal last season with midfielder Luka Milivojevic leading the goal-scoring charts with 12 goals, 11 of which were penalties.

Jordan Ayew who spent the season on loan at Selhurst Park from Swansea the past 12 months would command a similar fee to Rodriguez to make his move permanent, but with his superior goal scoring record in the top flight it’s thought the Palace boss would prefer the West Brom man to lead his line.

Palace fans however were less than impressed with the latest player linked with the red 'n' blue.
