Lee Bowyer was surprised but overjoyed by how quickly the bond between the terraces and players has formed over his time in charge.
Much has been said of the Addicks faithful over the last few months, and with their away allocations for their remaining fixtures already sold out, their support it seems is only growing.
The Charlton boss has often highlighted their importance in the Club’s plight, but he even admitted that the impact they’ve had has surpassed his imagination.
“This club is a great club, and there’s always been a connection between players and fans since I was a kid,” he said.
“Now to see it, everyone is buzzing, it’s a good place to be, there’s no negativity.
“To change that around is what I wanted to do, I didn’t think it happen that quickly but it has so I’m over the moon.”
🎥 This is definitely worth a watch... 😍

Posts on social media from Tuesday’s away win at Wycombe went viral, with the Addicks selling out their allocation and coming in for much praise from rival fans and even opposition spokespeople.
“Their effect is massive,” continued Bowyer.
“Tuesday at Wycombe the place was bouncing.
“I heard one of the Wycombe people who works there say our lads were the best group they’ve had all season, that is some statement.
“Someone high-up from Portsmouth, said our fans were a credit to the club and the best they’ve had there all season too.
“You can see the players respond to that.
“The fans play a massive part and I’m just glad they’re on this journey and enjoying it, because if it goes on how loud they are then they’re enjoying it an awful lot.”
