Player ratings from Millwall's 2-0 win over West bromwich Albion.

David Martin:

Produced a fine save from Johansen shortly before the break which kept their noses in front. Guessed correctly for the penalty even if it was on target he looked to have it covered. 7

James Meredith:

Provided width and decent in delivery. Got caught high up the pitch on too many occasions that thankfully didn’t go unpunished. 7

Jake Cooper:

A nuisance in the opposition box as always and dealt with Chris Brunt’s deliveries impeccably. Worried by the pace of Gayle throughout and was caught the wrong side of the forward to give the penalty away. 6

Alex Pearce(Capt):

Didn’t lose a header against the baggies front although was shown a clean pair of heels from Dwight Gayle in the first half. Excellent leadership in Hutchinson’s absence. 8

Mahlon Romeo:

Got up and down the right endlessly. End ball was poor in the first half but delivered some dangerous crosses in the second. 7

Ryan Tunnicliffe:

Anchored the midfield well and a surprise he got as forward as he did for the goal. 8

Ryan Leonard:

Dawdled on the ball once early on but made amends. Didn’t put a foot wrong after that outdoing Livermore and Brunt in the middle.7

Ben Thompson:

Best player on the pitch. Endless energy, composure and determination. Great run and cut-back that that should’ve been finished. Springs in his heels. Huge contribution for the second which could prove vital come the end of the season. 10

Ben Marshall:

Not getting the bounce of the ball at the minute. You can’t question his effort, but his timing and touch seem to be off. Offered little protection for Meredith down the left. 6

Jed Wallace:

‘Wall’s most dangerous player on the day. Had the beating of the Albion defence and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet thanks to some last-ditch blocks. Dovetailed with Gregory well. 9

Lee Gregory:

Held it up, laid it off, headed, tackled and hassled. Had little in terms of clear-cut chances but they will come. Deserved a goal for effort and distance covered alone. 8
