Jake Cooper would happily step forward and take another penalty shoot-out spot kick if needed.

Despite putting his effort from 12-yards over the bar which ended Millwall’s FA Cup adventure at the hands of Brighton, the confident defender says he wouldn’t hesitate to put his name in the ring if he was called upon again.

“I always want to be involved,” he said.

"I’d put my hand up to take another.

“I just got it wrong, sometimes these things happen,

“Best players in the world miss penalties, it’s not something I’m going to dwell on or let it affect my game.

“Nine times out of ten I’d score that penalty, it’s a shame we didn’t make it happen, but we were proud of our performance and we showed what we can do when we put our mind to it.

"I was the sixth penalty, I didn’t think I’d get to take one as it’s usually settled by then, but I felt confident in taking it."

Wembley Dream

Despite Neil Harris and his side all being on the same page when prioritising league survival over their FA Cup run, Cooper admitted a semi-final showdown at Wembley against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is something he had thought of.

“I would’ve loved to have played at Wembley, but it’s not the priority.

“To play Man City would be a great occasion and a huge test, but one that isn’t needed with the league games coming up.

“We need to focus and get our mind set on the league games and not on a semi-final with Man City.”

Millwall travel to Leeds United on Saturday knowing defeat could put them into the bottom three.
