A point was the least Charlton deserved from their trip to Doncaster according to Lee Bowyer.

John Marquis 72nd minute own goal was cancelled out by Mallik Wilks strike four minutes later to leave Bowyer’s men in fifth and five points clear of Donny in the race for the play-off places.

The Addicks peppered the goal early on but had to do with leaving the Keepmoat with a point, despite the home side feeling aggrieved by an offside decision late on that would’ve seen Grant McCann’s side take the spoils.

“A point I think that’s the least we deserve today,” said Bowyer.

“We had chance after chance, we just didn’t take them.

“I’m repeating myself.

“We won’t be disappointed, we got a point and weren't defeated.”

Bowyer couldn’t fault his teams performance and insisted it was a case of deja-vu.

“They were excellent from start to finish

“I thought we dominated large parts of the game, our passing and movement was very good, unfortunately we didn’t put the game to bed.”

“I keep saying, we are going to thump someone soon, it could’ve been today.

“Three chances early on, we had a lot of chances.

“On another day we score two, three, four comfortably.”

Charlton welcome fellow promotion hopefuls Portsmouth to The Valley next Saturday.
