Roy Hodgson was extremely happy with the performance of his forwards, following a good 2-0 win against Fulham.

Ayew and Benteke started the game, with Bathshuayi and Sako coming on late in the second half.

Hodgson said that he was Ayew had an excellent game on the ball and lauded his work rate off it.

“Ayew's all-around performance, it was probably his best performance. His work rate in midweek was fantastic, and today you can see the man has superhuman powers in the work he puts in.

“Today I thought he succeeded well without the ball as well. Christian, of course, coming back after a long lay-off.

“At halftime, he was complaining about the onset of cramp, we knew he couldn’t play for 90 mins, we knew we would have to take him.

“The good thing now when you have Batshuayi and Sako on the bench you’re not frightened to take him off because you have such good alternatives.

News Shopper:

Batshauyi had an instant impact off the bench, playing a key role in the second goal.

"I met Michy at 4.00 pm yesterday afternoon so it was an incredible impact. He has a record of that, that he has scored in every debut and almost kept it going.

“As far as I’m concerned his assist for the second goal was brilliant. Schlupp did well to follow up his shot.”

With Zaha returning from suspension soon, Hodgson will have a selection headache going forward.

Bathshuayi will hope to start, while Benteke showed his importance. Sako and Wickham will also be hoping to feature, as Palace looking to push up the table in the next four months.
