Crystal Palace ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Fulham, with goals in either half from Jeffery Schlupp and Luka Milivojevic.

Despite dominating possession, the Cottagers failed to register a shot on target all game.

In a cagey first half, Fulham should have gone ahead. Aleksander Mitrovic had a free header six yards out but failed to hit the target, after some good play from Joe Bryan.

That was probably the best chance of the game. Luka Milivojevic put Palace ahead from the spot after Cyrus Christie handled the ball during an aerial tussle with Benteke.

Sergio Rico would have been disappointed in himself, getting two hands on the penalty but it was just too powerful.

Palace seemed happy to let Fulham have the ball for most the half and attack on the break. Up until the final third, Fulham had some good play but seemed, scared to put a cross in.

When they did, Mitrovic seemed to have the beating of Tomkins and Sakho but couldn’t force a save from Guaita.

Benteke came close to scoring in spectacular fashion towards the end of the half, hitting the bar after an acrobatic effort.

As Fulham chased the game in the second half, it was Palace who had the best chances. Van Aanholt and Ayew forced good saves out of Rico.

Palace couldn’t make the most of their domination at the start of the second half, but Fulham never really threatened, failing to register a single shot on goal.

New signing Batshuayi came on in the final ten minutes and had a hand in Palace’s second goal.

It came through good play down the left from second-half substitute Meyer and Townsend, who played a nice ball too Batshuayi.

With lots do, the Belgian striker spun two defenders forcing a good save from Rico. But the ball fell kindly for Schlupp who had a tap in.

Despite having the lion share of possession for most the game, Fulham struggled to create anything of note.
