Karlan Grant's move to the Premiership's basement side has understandably got Charlton fans talking.

Losing Grant's goal scoring prowess is without question a blow to Lee Bowyer's automatic promotion campaign.

As Grant himself posted his debt of thanks to the Charlton Athletic family, Addicks fans themselves turned to social media to vent their frustrations.

Some fans wished the striker well:

Whilst others were not so sympathetic:

Gary Dowsett took to Facebook to share his feelings: "After all the good things said about him he couldn't even wait till the end of the season. Wish him well sitting on the bench."

Many fans pointed to the owner, Roland Duchatelet, to give the money received for Grant to Bowyer to re-invest in the squad.

Some fans felt the sale has scuppered the club's season:

Malcolm Sibbons said on facebook: "Typical of our club, always selling our best players. What chance of promotion now? I expect we got peanuts for him!!"

With one day to go before the transfer window closes, Charlton find themselves short in the attacking department.

  • Lyle Taylor has another two games of his suspension to serve.
  • Igor Vetokele has only played 45 minutes in an under23s game after returning from a dislocated shoulder.
  • Reeco Hackett-Fairchild has yet to start a game for Charlton.

So it serves as no surprise what the fans want to see:
