Karlan Grant's move to the Premiership's basement side has understandably got Charlton fans talking.
Losing Grant's goal scoring prowess is without question a blow to Lee Bowyer's automatic promotion campaign.
As Grant himself posted his debt of thanks to the Charlton Athletic family, Addicks fans themselves turned to social media to vent their frustrations.
Firstly just want to thank everyone at Cafc for the past 10 years. Iโve enjoyed my time at the club and wish nothing but success for you guys... Absolutely delighted to be joining Huddersfield town. A club with ambition & achieving my boyhood dream of playing in the PLโฝ๏ธ๐ตโช๏ธ. pic.twitter.com/vJ3VZ96igz

Some fans wished the striker well:
All the best mate and thanks for the goals. Really disappointed you couldn't have hung on til the summer but hope it works out for you #cafc

Whilst others were not so sympathetic:
You hope the team achieve promotion this year? You would have been one of the players to help us with that if you'd stayed til the end of the season ๐ค #cafc

Gary Dowsett took to Facebook to share his feelings: "After all the good things said about him he couldn't even wait till the end of the season. Wish him well sitting on the bench."
Many fans pointed to the owner, Roland Duchatelet, to give the money received for Grant to Bowyer to re-invest in the squad.
I donโt think we will sign anyone before the deadline. Roland will pocket the Karlan money and leave Bow short up front. Never been so sure of something. #cafc

We didnt get any money for Grant. Roland did and we wont see a penny of it. Hows the training ground work the Lookman money paid for? #cafc

Wouldn't it be great if our owner actually gave bowyer the 1.5m and said go get us promotion.

Yeah I know I just see that flying pig as well . ๐ #cafc
Some fans felt the sale has scuppered the club's season:
Weโve honestly thrown our season away, Cba for a below average player to sign on loan๐ค #cafc https://t.co/n4q0tyshWq
โ Brogue Stevens (@BrogueStevens) January 30, 2019
Malcolm Sibbons said on facebook: "Typical of our club, always selling our best players. What chance of promotion now? I expect we got peanuts for him!!"

With one day to go before the transfer window closes, Charlton find themselves short in the attacking department.
- Lyle Taylor has another two games of his suspension to serve.
- Igor Vetokele has only played 45 minutes in an under23s game after returning from a dislocated shoulder.
- Reeco Hackett-Fairchild has yet to start a game for Charlton.
So it serves as no surprise what the fans want to see:
Dear Mr Steve Gallen please work your magic and bring in a very highly rated striker, in Gallen we trust. a very valuable part of #cafc @CAFCofficial

So.... we gonna sign another striker then? Or?? #cafc

bring in a striker. need it urgently now that the snake has gone. #cafc https://t.co/f7zsKgEM6m

Charlton MUST get a Striker replacement sorted #CAFC
โ Adam Berry (@DiscoEnergy) January 30, 2019
I know I'm stating the obvious but the absolute minimum we need through that door before tomorrow's deadline is two strikers. I hope Gallen & Bows have plenty of red bull because it's going to take a big effort to get in some fire power!! #CAFC
โ Tegsy (@tegsyjack) January 30, 2019
Mo Eisa and I would be genuinely happy so hope the club are working hard at bringing him in. Will guarantee us goals at this level I think and reckon he could also build a good partnership with Lyle fairly quickly too. #cafc

While some were just exacerbated by the whole situation.
You couldnโt make up being a Charlton fan #cafc ๐
