Here’s how the players rated in their 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley at The Valley.
Dillon Phillips
Made a fantastic save from Armstrong in the first half which would’ve done him the world of good. Faultless performance.7
Patrick Bauer
Not the best showing from the German. Muscled off the ball a couple of times and looked flustered with the ball at his feet. An off-day. 6
Chris Solly
Back at right-back he looks at home. Didn’t put a foot wrong and leads by example. Defends first and attacks second. Combined well with Cullen down the right. 7

Naby Sarr
The best performance yet from the centre back. Solid in the air as usual but today his passing was on point. Two moments in the first half he surprised everyone with two Cruyff turns that sent the Stanley striker to the car park.8
Ben Purrington
Looked to have opened his account but denied by a fiune stop by the Stanley keeper. Got forward frequently and delivered some threatening crosses. More to come from the loan signing I’d say.7
Krystian Bielik
What a signing this was. Looks a cut above those he’s up against every week. Offers so much in defence and attack. His reading of the game is exceptional. 8
Josh Cullen
Such a classy player. He was the catalyst that livened up The Addicks after a slow start. His passing and decision making in tight areas creates space. A joy to watch. Dare I say it, very ‘Inesta-like.’ 7
Jonny Williams
Looks to be enjoying his football, and because of that he stands out like a diamond. The opposition looked to rattle him with a few hefty challenges but the diminutive Welshman seems to ride the tackles….so far! Let’s hope he stays fit. 7
Darren Pratley
In a midfield of youth and energy the 33-year-old offers much needed experience in the middle of the park which doesn’t get unnoticed. Still looking spritely and is a real weapon in both boxes. 6
Karlan Grant
Brimming with confidence he ran Stanley’s defence ragged. If this is what happens when he’s linked to Rangers, imagine what he’d be like if Manchester City made a move! 9
Lyle Taylor
Not the greatest showing from the forward. Threatened second half but lost possession a number of times in dangerous positions before his sending off. 5
Subs:
Ben Reeves
Added more movement to the midfield when replacing Pratley just after the hour and dovetailed well with Cullen. 7
