Following a fans forum at The Valley to discuss the potential takeover of the club, fans have been left unimpressed by proceedings.

Lieven De Turck (LDT), who is representing the club in takeover talks, addressed fans and club staff of the latest developments.

Key points from the forum were that a call between the club and potential suitors from Australia and America were held, but:

“Nothing was confirmed on the call about the takeover date. The main message from the call was that the complexity of their group has been reduced.”

Mr De Turck believes the potential buyers have the finances to purchase the club but it was revealed at the fans forum that:

“The remaining documents required for a deal to be completed are still not lodged with the EFL.”

This led fans to believe that any takeover was far from near.

One man who has come in for criticism, along with owner Roland Duchatelet, is TalkSport’s Jim White.

White, fans believe, misled the Addicks faithful in to believing that a takeover was imminent, or in the next ‘24-72 hours’ as was frequently mentioned on air earlier this week.

The reporting of the issue left many fans venting their frustration towards the presenter on social media.
