Player ratings from Brentford's 3-2 defeat
Daniel Bentley
Made a fine save at 3-0 and 3-1 to keep Brentford’s hopes alive. His distribution was off today and he looked shaky under the high-ball, which is understandable given the little defensive cover he gets over 90 minutes. 5
Rico Henry
Looked good going forward but his job is to defend. Not entirely at fault for the opening two goals but when one is beating to the ball from a cut back, you must question their desire.5
Chris Mepham and Ezri Konsa
Both had a very bad day. Offered no protection from McEachran or Sawyers in the first half but the blame for the opening goal lies squarely with the center-backs. Reluctant to put boot to ball, they got caught out and punished. Never recovered from the opening calamitous 30 seconds. 3

Henrik Dalsgaard
Needlessly gave away a free-kick which led to the third goal. Despite a poor showing I will say that Dalsgaard never fails to give his all. Endless running and seems to be the only man at the back willing to take responsibility. 5
Nico Yennaris
Deployed further forward in the first half and looked out of sorts. As McEachran got hooked at the break the former Arsenal man looked far more composed holding the midfield. Surely Thomas Frank can see that’s where he belongs? 5
Josh McEachran
Offered little both in defence and attack. There is a player in there but it’s not a holding midfielder I’m afraid. Rightly taken off at the break.4
Romaine Sawyers
Always the scapegoat. The man can pick a pass and should be applauded for his willingness to always play football, not berated. 5
Ollie Watkins
Slowly finding form but still short of match practice. Looked a little rusty but he’s definitely re-gaining the form of last season. 6
Said Benrahma
The home side’s best player by a country mile. Threatening at every opportunity, Swansea couldn’t handle him. His goal was perfection. 7
Neal Maupay
Not the striker’s best day. Wasted two golden chances, one from five-yards out. His hold up play wasn’t at the usual high-standard he’s set through the start of the season. 5
Subs:
Alan Judge
Looked threatening and demanded the ball at every opportunity.
