Millwall could not end their three-match winless run as they were reduced to 10 men during their defeat to Birmingham City at the Den.

An own goal from James Meredith after 12 minutes would see the Lions get off to the worst possible start before Ryan Leonard received his marching orders on the half hour.

Birmingham would take control though, and when Michael Morrison found the back of the net at around the hour mark it spelled yet another defeat for the Lions.

Here's how News Shopper rated Millwall's players...

Jordan Archer – 7 - After taking his chance against Bolton on the weekend, the goalkeeper looks back to his old self as every Birmingham attack seemed to end with him. Could do nothing about the two goals.

James Meredith – 6 - Was tormented by Connor Mahoney in the first half but he redeemed himself following the break. Unlucky with the own goal.

Jake Cooper – 6 – A quiet game in attack going by the centre half's recent standards. His only opportunity come when a parried free-kick fell into his path that he was unable to convert.

Shaun Hutchinson – 5 - The defender has struggled in recent weeks and it was no different tonight. He was easily beaten by Che Adams for the opening goal, though he battled in the second half before going off with blood streaming down his face following a collision.

Mahlon Romeo – 7 – The full back continued to be an option on that right side after Jed Wallace was drafted into the middle. His defensive work is also worthy of a mention, tracking back frequently to assist Cooper and Hutchinson.

Shane Ferguson – 5 - Struggled to make an impact and was substituted for Ryan Tunnicliffe following Leonard’s red card.

Shaun Williams – 5 – A harrowing performance from the Republic of Ireland International. His ball retention was dismal after being dispossessed several times.

Ryan Leonard – 3 – Two silly challenges ended his night early for him. Failed to do anything enlightening beforehand.

Jed Wallace – 7 – The winger looked dangerous on the counter attack and was probably most fouled player on the pitch. A spirited performance from the winger after signing a new contract in midweek.

Lee Gregory – 6 - His hard work, as usual, is admirable as he ran Birmingham's defence ragged with his closing down. It will be a huge blow to the Lions if the knock that forced him to be substituted is anything serious.

Steve Morrison – 5 - After supposedly being ruled out with a hamstring injury, it was a surprise to see him in the lineup. However, the striker had a quiet day at the office as the Birmingham’s centre halves got the better of him on several occasions.
