A 5-0 thumping would usually mean a fine performance from all, but how did the players rate?

Dillon Phillips: Made a vital save from Danny Rose in the opening ten minutes which woke his side up. Looked very comfortable under the high ball and with the ball at his feet, a solid performance. 7

Anfernee Dijksteel: A shaky start from the right back but grew in to the game. Completed more passes to his goalkeeper than any other team mate in the first half which tells a story. Second half the Dutchman looked far more settled and his reading of the game was impeccable as he made a number of interceptions.7

Patrick Bauer: coming back from an injury picked up in September, the German made a great covering tackle on CJ Hamilton when he looked destined to score. Commanding in the air and poses a real physical presence at both ends of the pitch. Brought off on the hour and Bowyer will be pleased to have the big centre-half back.7

Naby Sarr: lucky not to give away a penalty first half and was given a torrid time by the impressive CJ Hamilton up front. Formed and imposing partnership with Bauer by his side and never looked like losing a battle once Hamilton was withdrawn on the hour. 6

Toby Stevenson: The adventurous full-back was made honest in his third start as Mansfield pinned him back. Got forward second half and created the second. With Bowyer declaring he wanted a left-back earlier this season, this showing may make him change his mind. 7

Billy Clarke: Still getting up to speed after a long lay-off, the Irishman had a shaky start after a loose pass was nearly punished. Composed himself thereafter and displayed a fine range of passing. Looked tired late on. 7

Darren Pratley: playing further forward than his holding-midfield role of late the former Bolton and Swansea man was full of running first half. Went quiet second half but always looked composed on the ball and his experience showed. 6

George Lapslie: the game passed the tenacious midfielder by first half as he was deployed just behind the attacking trio. Second half Bowyer saw the benefits of his reading of the game as he broke up play when reverting to the holding midfielder. Made a fine block to deny Calum Butcher in the second half. 8

Tariqe Fosu: always looked to beat a man and showed glimpses of the player he was last season. Did well to set up Taylor’s second but often held on to the ball too long. 7

Lyle Taylor: Started wide on the right and ran like a man who knew he wouldn’t be playing on Saturday. Showed good anticipation and determination to bag the opener at the near post.  The third goal was a touch of class and drove the team forward when the visitors looked in the ascendancy. 10

Nicky Ajose: dovetailed well with Taylor in the first half resulting in the opener. Popped up across the front-line and came close with a spectacular effort late on. A live-wire who deserved his goal. 8

Subs: Mark Marshall - got on the socresheet and could've got two. The winger will have harder days at the office. 7
