Ireland under-21 goalkeeper Darren Randolph will take on Portugal in a qualifier on Friday, the same night Martin Christensen is due to feature for Denmark under-21s against Lithuania with a second match against Scotland next Wednesday.

Madjid Bougherra, should he recover from injury, will join up with the Algeria squad for the Desert Foxes'make-or-break final African Nations Cup qualification match against Gambia on Sunday.

IT WAS two in and two out in the final days of the August transfer window with defenders Danny Mills and Sam Sodje arriving at The Valley on loan deals and Amdy Faye and Marcus Bent leaving for season-long stints with Rangers and Wigan respectively.

LEAGUE One side Luton Town will be Charlton's opposition in the third round of the Carling Cup with the tie probably taking place at Kenilworth Road on September 25.
