Another creative protest from Charlton fans overshadowed the club’s bore draw with Fleetwood today.

There was a 90-second stoppage in play as Charlton fans threw packets of crisps on to the pitch to protest against wantaway owner Roland Duchatelet, who is believed to have reneged on a promise to pay Addicks staff bonuses.

Supporters have thrown toy pigs, balloons and toy taxis on to the Valley playing surface in the past.

Charlton dominated the ball in the first-half, but similarly in the midweek defeat to Peterborough, failed to create any clear-cut chances.

The closest they came in a drab opening 45 minutes was when Lyle Taylor’s drilled cross was almost turned into his own net by Craig Morgan.

Fleetwood grew into the game as the half drew to a close. Ched Evans saw a shot deflect just wide before Lewis Page cleared Wes Burns’ effort off the line.

The visitors started the second-half as they ended the first when Dillon Phillips superbly tipped Ashley Hunter’s header around the post.

Charlton nearly capitalised on a Lewis Coyle mistake as his pass was intercepted and Joe Aribo played in Taylor who unselfishly chose to pass instead of shoot.

The Addicks had their best chance of the game when Aribo volleyed Solly’s cross inches wide late on.

It’s now just one win in five league games for Charlton.

Charlton XI: Phillips, Solly, Bauer, Sarr, Page, Marshall (Vetokele 63), Bielik, Pratley, Aribo (Lapslie 78), Grant, Taylor.
