Millwall have announced the signing of Tom Bradshaw from Barnsley.

The 26-year-old has completed a loan transfer to the Den which will become permanent in January as Neil Harris boosts his attacking options.

He also breaks the club’s “long-standing” transfer record and could be slotted into the team that travels away to Rotherham United this Sunday.

Harris said: “We’re absolutely delighted. Tom Bradshaw has been our number one transfer target attacking-wise all summer.

“Unfortunately, it became public back in June and July that we were chasing him. We’ve had to work extremely hard alongside Barnsley, trying to get the deal done.

“To finally get it completed is really pleasing.”

Bradshaw now joins strikers Lee Gregory, captain Steve Morison, and Tom Elliott in the forward department.

Millwall will be keen to put the 2-1 defeat away to Sheffield Wednesday, their first in the Championship this season, behind them.

Ryan Tunnicliffe scored late but the visitors could not overcome the two-goal deficit as Barry Bannan and Tom Lees struck home the decisive finishes.
