Crystal Palace have reignited their interest in Khouma Babacar.

The Senegal striker, 25, only joined Sassuolo on a permanent deal from Fiorentina two weeks ago after a successful loan spell last season.

But that has not stopped Palace’s long-term pursuit.

The Mirror say the Eagles are confident of landing Babacar for £12m.

Palace’s strikers struggled for goals last term with Christian Benteke scoring just three times and January signing Alexander Sorloth failing to find the net.

Midfielder Luka Milivojevic was their only player to reach double figures.

It is understood that Palace’s £12m bid would offer Sassuolo a swift profit on Babacar.
