Rangers have tabled a £3m bid for Millwall defender Jake Cooper.
The 23-year-old starred in a mean defence last season, helping the Lions keep 19 clean sheets - the joint-third highest in the Championship.
Millwall boss Neil Harris has signed Murray Wallace and handed Byron Webster a new contract to add competition to starting centre-halves Cooper and Shaun Hutchinson.
Cooper has two years left on his contract, however, the Daily Mail say new Rangers chief Steven Gerrard is pushing hard to sign him.
Flop defender Bruno Alves is expected to join Parma to seal a return to Serie A in the forthcoming weeks. He failed to impress in his 25 appearances at Ibrox last term.
It would open the door for Cooper to become Gerrard’s tenth signing of the summer.
