Karl Robinson hopes Tariqe Fosu will be back for Charlton’s game against Shrewsbury next Saturday.
The winger missed the Addicks’ 2-1 win over MK Dons with a groin complaint.
And Charlton’s injury woes continued as Patrick Bauer was forced off in the second-half at MK Stadium.
Robinson said: “He [Fosu] will be back next week, we hope. We’re not too sure about Bauer’s injury - I haven't even asked him! I was too enthralled in the game.
“Tariqe had a bit of a fatigue issue. I want to mention something as well, when I subbed him with 10 minutes to go [against Doncaster] and he's the best player, fans say ‘that’s rubbish - you shouldn't be doing that’.
“But we have to protect him, he's running on empty, the kid has never played this much football in his life. It’s not about him being the best player, there are so many facets as to why you substitute a player.
“Leaving him on [against Bradford] has probably cost him an injury in some ways. It’s frustrating but hopefully he’ll recover this week and be back in the squad for Saturday. It’s a groin injury.”
Meanwhile, Naby Sarr was not included in the matchday squad for the MK Dons trip despite training for a full week.
The defender has been out since New Year’s Day with a hamstring injury.
Robinson added: “He just didn't travel. He’ll hopefully play an Under-23s game on Monday.
“Jason Pearce will play some minutes on Monday and so will Nicky Ajose. And Johnnie Jackson will have a little cameo hopefully.
“Naby’s trained all week but I feel like he still needs minutes. Pearcy looked like a man when he came on today. I’m very proud of him.”
