Karl Robinson wants to sign two more players before the transfer window closes.
The Addicks boss has already brought in Stephy Mavididi and Michal Zyro on loan deals this month.
And talks are ongoing to sign Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai on a temporary basis.
Robinson said: “We still need to bring players in. We’ve been calculated in what we’re trying to achieve.
“As for players going out, that’s out of my hands.
“That’s in the hands of other people whether they want our players or not and if they reach the asking price or not. It’s as simple as that.
“I don't have a rough idea [of how many players I want to bring in], I have an exact idea. I know what I need, everyone internally knows what I want.
“I’d like to bring in more players, but every manager would say the same - we always want more. We ask for two, we’ll get one, if you ask for one, you'll get none.
“I want four and I’ve got two. You know what manager’s try to get out of this window and I’m no different.”
The January transfer window closes at 11pm on January 31.
