Charlton’s fine run of form continued with a 3-1 win over Walsall on Saturday.

Joe Aribo and Stephy Mavididi were on target as the Addicks secured three successive league victories.

Here are five things we learned…

Stephy Mavididi is unplayable

He was so unlucky not to score in the first-half after seeing his shot cannon off the crossbar, but he didn't let that affect him.

The Arsenal loanee played a massive part in Kory Roberts’ own goal before netting for the second time in three games.

After a disappointing spell at Preston in the Championship, Mavididi has hit the ground running in SE7.

If it wasn't obvious before, the 19-year-old will be vital to Charlton’s promotion hopes.

Tariqe Fosu gives Charlton a massive boost

With the game level in the 51st minute, Addicks boss Karl Robinson brought on Fosu, who made his return from a two-month injury lay-off.

He injected even more pace into a Charlton team that had Mavididi and Mark Marshall on the pitch.

Fosu’s penetrating runs seriously troubled Walsall’s defence. He’s been desperately missed so it’s great to have him back.

There are signings to come

Charlton are hoping to sign Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai on loan for the rest of the season, and Robinson revealed a loan deal was agreed to bring in a left-footed attacker.

The more bodies in, the better… unless it’s Joe Dodoo. Kaikai is a proven performer in this division after two prolific spells with Shrewsbury.

So he’s surely going to make Charlton better.

The Roland Out chants return

“We want Roland out, we want Roland out” was chanted for the first time this season. The Belgian owner is reluctant to splash any cash on permanent signings while he tries to sell the club.

And it’s infuriating Charlton fans.

Promotion rivals Wigan, Blackburn and Scunthorpe have significantly strengthened their squads in the first half of the January transfer window.

Duchatelet’s long-awaited Valley exit is threatening to derail Charlton’s promotion hopes. However, the sixth-placed Addicks seem to have turned a corner under Robinson, who has worked with a depleted squad for the past two months.

Karl Robinson finally has selection headaches

Chris Solly and Fosu made their comebacks against Walsall, while Jake Forster-Caskey was only fit enough for the bench.

Influential defensive duo Jason Pearce and Patrick Bauer could be in contention for Blackpool if they return to first-team training this week.

Ezri Konsa and Harry Lennon have impressed at the back, Mavididi’s starred in Fosu’s position and Joe Aribo has been in fine form since December.

So those players have given Robinson a few selection headaches ahead of the Blackpool trip.
