Aiden O’Brien slotted home just before half-time, but a late Callum Robinson goal meant that Millwall had to settle for a point against Preston North End at The Den.

Here’s how News Shopper rated the Lions’ players…

Jordan Archer - 6 – Had a hairy moment as he spilled Robinson’s long-range strike in the first-half. Other than that, he had next to nothing to do. Helpless with the goal.

Mahlon Romeo – 7 – Impressive display. Got forward quite often and put over a few dangerous crosses. Linked-up well with Wallace. Allowed Cunningham far too much space for the goal, though.

Shaun Hutchinson - 7 – Solid as ever. Kept Hugill quiet throughout, barely giving him a sniff.

Jake Cooper - 7 – Just like Cooper, made numerous clearances, mainly with his head, leaving Hutchinson to mop up on the floor.

James Meredith - 7 – Important clearance from Archer’s parry to get his goalkeeper out of jail and a crucial block to deny Horgan’s powerful strike late on.

Jed Wallace - 7 – Dangerous all afternoon. It was his cross for O’Brien that gave Millwall the lead to extend his ever-growing assist tally.

Ryan Tunnicliffe - 7 – Good defensively and almost set Gregory away in the early-stages, but his pass was intercepted by Clarke. Seemed up for the battle and retained the ball well.

George Saville - 6 – Ineffective. Let a simple pass slip under his foot in what was a poor first-half. Much improved second, though.

Aiden O’Brien - 7 – Another goal and it was a sensational finish at the near-post to give Millwall the lead. Helped out defensively during a frustrating second-half.

Lee Gregory - 6 – Hold up play was excellent. Worked hard win the ball back for his side, but struggled to find any openings, apart from one early chance, but Clarke denied his with sliding tackle.

Steve Morison - 6 – Worked extremely hard. Won all his aerial duels. You wouldn’t have known it was his fourth start in 16 days.
