Karl Robinson was thrilled to see injury-hit Harry Lennon return to action against AFC Wimbledon on Sunday.

Lennon came on as a late substitute in the FA Cup defeat to make his first Addicks appearance in over a year.

A serious groin problem kept the Charlton academy graduate sidelined - and he suffered setbacks during his recovery.

Charlton boss Robinson told News Shopper: “I’ve just said to the players in there for all the negatives today, the proudest moment was seeing Harry Lennon on the pitch.

“I know how hard he’s worked for 12 months since he last played for the football club.

“I know he had some dark days in relation to things not going his way with so many different types of treatment that didn't work.

“Seeing him come on was a proud moment for him because he’s worked so hard behind the scenes for this opportunity.”
