Joe Dodoo will start against Truro City in the FA Cup first-round clash on Sunday.

The Rangers loanee scored his second goal for the club in Charlton's Checkatrade Trophy win over Fulham Under-21s on Wednesday.

He has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since arriving at the Valley in August.

However, with first-choice striker Josh Magennis on international duty with Northern Ireland, Dodoo has a chance to stake a claim for a starting spot.

Charlton boss Karl Robinson told News Shopper: “It’s a golden opportunity for him now, 100 per cent. It’s come at a good time for him.

“He’s got to keep scoring goals. There are certain facets to his game that he has to improve. But he’s young.

“His goal against Fulham would've done him the world of good and I’m sure he’ll want to get another one on Sunday.”

To comply with Checkatrade Trophy rules, four players must start in the previous or following game.

Subsequently, the only survivors from the Fulham win will be Johnnie Jackson, Ben Reeves, Mark Marshall and Dodoo.

First-team regulars Patrick Bauer, Ezri Konsa, Chris Solly and Ricky Holmes are likely to return to the side.
