Metz are plotting a transfer move for Charlton winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson, News Shopper understands.
Gudmundsson was the joint-highest assist provider in the Championship last season and is expected to leave the Valley this summer.
The 25-year-old signed a new four-year deal with Charlton in July but is one of several first-team regulars being linked with a move after the Addicks’ relegation to League One.
French side Metz, who sealed promotion to Ligue 1 in May, hope to secure Gudmundsson’s services this summer ahead of a testing campaign.
The Iceland international has made 86 appearances for Charlton since joining in 2014 and is currently in France preparing for Euro 2016.
