Charlton Athletic forward Tony Watt has joined Cardiff City on loan until January 16th.
The Scotland U21 star netted three goals in the Addicks’ first three games of the season but has failed to score another goal since his early burst.
The club say the move will allow the 21-year-old to rediscover his impressive early-season form, but some Charlton fans have reacted with frustration to the news.
Some fans failed to find the logic in the deal:
@CAFCofficial Why would you make any decision on players without a manager?... Why don't you just admit this puppet is our new manager!#cafc

I should be working but I’m trying to figure out the logic of leaving us with Reza,Makienok,KAG, Lookman & Vaz Te, looks weak on paper #cafc

@CAFCofficial @CardiffCityFC lie after lie after lie after lie ... All that positivity from Saturday tarnished yet again 😔 #cafc

Bizarre. Board not helping themselves with decisions like this! #cafc

He may have been disruptive but with a proper manager he wouldnt be a problem. A player of Watt's calibre is worth 20 Belgian managers #cafc

Why have we just got rid of the only player on our squad who can change a game, it's like our board want us to get relegated #CAFC

We send our best player out on loan. Joke. Never going to a game again while RD is still owner #cafc

This club is an actual joke 😶😶😶 #cafc

However, some fans stated the deal was a positive move:
Keep your hair on Charlton fans, we've won the last two games without him. I know it's still strange but not the end of the world. #Cafc

If u was a manager & had a member of staff disrupting the rest of ur team what would you do? The simple answer is get rid #cafc
