Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak praised his side’s battling display after they were unlucky not to take all three points against an in-from Everton side.

The Eagles held the Toffees to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst on Saturday, recording their first clean sheet of the season in the process.

And it is this which Jedinak believes is the biggest positive to take from the game.

The Australian international said: “Getting a clean sheet is very positive for us and it just goes to show if you keep clean sheets, you get results.

"It was a really gutsy performance from us and we were unlucky not to take a few of the chances we had, but that’s the way it goes and we have to move on from here.

“It was encouraging to see the boys respond the way they did to Keith’s words in the week and to get a point is positive, but we have got to build on it.” Jedinak added:

“I think this could be the start of something really positive for the club.

“It was a fantastic day all round.

“Hopefully we can build on this result going into the next few games.”

Palace’s next four games against Hull, Norwich, West Ham and Cardiff have already been highlighted by co-chairman Steve Parish as crucial in the club’s bid for Premier League survival.

But keeper Julian Speroni believes they cannot go into this run of fixtures with the attitude it will make or break their season.

He explained: “It’s a long season, nothing will be decided in the next four games.

“Obviously you can put yourself in a very tough situation if you do not get those points, but nothing will be decided 100 percent after those games.

“We cannot be thinking about the next four, we need to just concentrate on the next game and not get ahead of ourselves.”
