CHARLTON are interested in signing veteran Swansea City midfielder Mark Gower on loan.
The 34-year-old played a key role in Swansea’s promotion to the Premier League in 2011 and played 20 times in the top flight under Brendan Rogers last season.
However, he has become a periphery figure in south Wales this campaign under Michael Laudrup’s stewardship, making just one Premier League appearance and two in the Swans’ run to the League Cup final at Wembley.
Charlton boss Chris Powell is a long-term admirer of the former Spurs and Southend player and News Shopper understands the Addicks are edging closer to finally getting him on loan to add some much-needed experience to a side still yet to guarantee their Championship status.
