THE capture of Benik Afobe on a youth loan contract from Arsenal should signal the end of Millwall’s shake up of their frontline, according to Den boss Kenny Jackett.
Afobe, who enjoyed a loan spell with Championship rivals Bolton earlier this season, will officially join Millwall on a youth loan deal until the end of the campaign tomorrow and should feature in Saturday’s trip to Blackpool.
Millwall have already seen Chris Wood and Darius Henderson depart in recent weeks, with Shaun Batt on loan at Leyton Orient and Dany N’Guessan attracting attention from Charlton.
Rob Hulse has come in on loan from QPR and Jackett expects the arrival of Afobe will complete his attacking options for the rest of the season.
He told News Shopper: “It certainly changes things around a little bit and gives us some new options up front, which is what we’ve needed, so yes, I would think we will now settle down and work with the group we have.
“In terms of our striking options we feel he can add something to it.
“He played for England U21s on Tuesday night for 45 minutes, and through the middle and as a striker we think he is a good addition for us.”
