On January 31 some person with nothing better to do cut a telephone cable in Hatherly Crescent leaving 4,800 houses and businesses without telephone connections (Telephone Lines Cut Off As Thieves Target Copper Cable, News Shopper, February 8).
I would just like to say a big thank you to the six BT engineers who worked for four days in the freezing cold to restore these connections - as this works out at 1,200 lines a day. I think this deserves recognition.
