EVERY year in Pratts Bottom they have a village fete.
This year there was a different committee organising it and some of these people have worked very hard, giving up their spare time to try and make it a success.
Being a new committee, they tried to cover every aspect of arranging this by getting permission from the council, paying it to cut the grass on the village green, taking out the various insurances and so on.
However, it seems they overlooked one simple thing permission to advertise along the route of the procession.
So the council, in all its wisdom, sent two men and a van to take away all signs advertising the fete.
The council has always been aware of it but some jobsworth has had the signs removed.
If asked, the committee would have removed them after the event.
It seems so petty of the council to do this, so we can only hope it did not ruin the day through people not being informed about it.
