BABIES IN PUBS: After reading the article about breastfeeding in the Trafalgar Tavern pub (Ban On Breastfeeding, News Shopper, May 10), I was alarmed any mother would want to take their one-month-old baby into a smoky atmosphere, let alone feed them there so they can also take in the smoke as well as the milk. I use the pub and know although the restaurant may be non-smoking the fumes still waft through from the main area of the pub. I don't think babies should be breastfed in pubs unless they are non-smoking throughout. I do feel there should be an area for mothers to feed their babies as there are in supermarkets.

NO RESPECT: Regarding Is Spike Goon-er Come Back Soon (News Shopper, May 17). Honouring someone with a statue in Lewisham is illustrated with a picture of our clock tower, which is being shown no respect whatsoever by having fast-food stalls placed right up against its walls. I wrote to the mayor about this but he didn't have the grace to reply.
