Three cheers for highlighting the ever-growing problem of dogs fouling footpaths.
All along the street in which I live there is dog mess and since I live in a cul-de-sac the conclusion must be the offending dogs actually live in our road!
Mine is the only house where dogs have not fouled outside on the footpath, having no gate to shut them out they come right in and foul the grass.
I own a dog so I am not anti and yes I do pick up after him, but I absolutely object to having to pick up after someone else's pooch.
Because dogs were fouling in my own garden I kept a vigil and followed one of these offenders right to its own home.
I tackled the owner and was told "because we are having works done on the house he keeps escaping" - not so I later discovered when seeing her open the door and sending the dog out.
I collected his leavings into a bag and deposited them (still in their bag of course) on her doorstep but she still insists on letting her dog walk himself what can you do?
I have made several complaints to the council only to discover they can do nothing. If there is anyone out there who has beaten this problem perhaps they will write to your page and let us know how.
To those who allow it, perhaps they will do something now that it has been highlighted. We have a right to clean streets.
