THIS letter is aimed at the female jogger running down Bromley Common towards Bromley on the afternoon of February 16 at around 5pm.
I approached the junction of Magpie Hall Lane and Bromley Common from the direction of the golf course, stopping my motorcycle at the junction.
Waiting to turn left towards Locksbottom, I saw a jogger approach Magpie Hall Lane.
She made a comment to me about looking out for pedestrians, and then continued on her way, between my motorcycle and a car behind me.
Allow me to make the following points.
The raised red coloured pavement at that junction is not a pedestrian crossing. I was stationary well before she ran up to the junction, and I had indeed seen her, even though in the failing light she was wearing dark clothing.
I'm quite sure a trip to the library will enable her to borrow a copy of The Highway Code and The Police System of Motorcycling to better understand roadcraft.
Both these publications helped me pass my motorcycle test first time.
Although she may be on foot, it doesn't mean she always has right of way.
