ON FEBRUARY 22 I went to collect my young daughters from a Brownies and Guides Thinking Day service at Christ Church, Erith.
When I arrived it was pretty chaotic with parents and cars everywhere.
I drove to the far end of Christchurch Avenue before I found a parking space.
Being a narrow road and with other parked cars opposite I parked partly on the pavement as most other people had done.
The service overran by nearly half an hour and when I returned to my car I was horrified to find a penalty notice slapped on the windscreen.
I cannot believe the council has attendants running around giving out tickets at 7.50pm.
I thought I was giving my daughters some purpose in life by taking them to this but now feel I may as well let them roam the streets of the borough, smashing it up.
They might then be rewarded with a treat by the authorities.
The attendant must have seen everybody outside the church but did not warn anyone.
Many other cars had tickets and I would be interested to hear from anyone else who suffered the same fate.
