What is it with some people in society - particularly selfish neighbours and their parking.

A new scheme to issue parking tickets to cars parked across driveways with a drop kerb was introduced. You only register if you want cars to be penalised, and we signed up immediately and informed our neighbours and a few others out of sheer courtesy that we had done so having had our drive blocked many times in the past.

However, last Saturday I was unable to go out because we had a small silver car halfway across our driveway trapping my friend's car in our drive.

Why should I have to knock on doors to ask someone to move it?

This is an illegal act according to the highway code, and as our local neighbours were informed we are on the driveway scheme, there was no excuse.

I did indeed phone parking services to complain and took a couple of photos as evidence, but still some people think they can park anywhere they like even across another's driveway?

Is it plain arrogance, or are these people just too selfish to give a damn? In other words neighbourhood bullies!

Never mind, I at least know that one day a car will block my drive and I can watch smuggly as the warden slaps a ticket on it, but hey, it was not as if you weren't all previously warned now was it!
