What is happening to our once happy town? Residents of long standing, who remember how it was, remember Penge had its own council (most of whom were residents) and we had our own refuse collection too.
What most residents would like to know is, why is it our present refuse collection and street cleaning contractors admit their service to Penge is bottom of their list of priorities?
Also, why has Maple Road market virtually closed down? And why has Penge Social Club, Barclays Bank and the Woolwich Building Society all decided to close?
What has happened to the flower seller at the end of Southey Street and finally why is it that Jacqui Lait is silent about the historic constituency of Beckenham and Penge to disappear in the decade?
Penge is to be paired with Lewisham. The truth I suppose is that reduces the Labour vote to make her seat safer.
