I APPLAUD the letter from W J Beazley in support of the London Olympics (Good Games, News Shopper, February 22).
It is very refreshing to hear someone actually in favour of the Olympics who doesn't mind helping with a financial contribution.
I for one will be celebrating with W J Beazley when the Olympics finally get to London.
To all the people who don't want to pay for the Games, look at how the public respond to the Tour de France starting in London next year.
The Olympics will be celebrated on a massively larger scale.
Get behind the UK and support something positive which you will be able to talk about for years to come.
Manchester did not ask for the rest of the UK to help pay for the Commonwealth Games, so why should London be treated differently?
