I LIKE FOXES: In regard to the letter Take Action To Deal With Foxes In Towns (News Shopper, February 16), it is true foxes have a poor lifestyle in urban areas and are frequently killed on roads. I personally love to see them. They have the moral right to remain on their territory when possible, even if man has taken it over. My father-in-law has foxes visit his large urban garden regularly without doing any damage to vegetables or flowers. The only damage done is by badgers who dig small holes now and then, a small price to pay for seeing the richness of nature. Fox Watch will advise people on ways to deter foxes, if that is what they want. Councils have their phone number.

EU KNOW BEST: I suppose none of us is a thoroughbred. If pressed, however, I am a Kentish Man. I've never felt European. Mum and dad didn't feel very European when bombs were falling on Welling in the Second World War. How politically incorrect of me. Auntie Europe knows what's best for us. It's only taken me 58 years to realise this.
