Recent writers to your letters page claim the proposed refurbishment of the Manor House in Lee represents "vandalism" and say the community has been kept in the dark about plans for the building and its library. Neither is the case.
The Lee Manor Society and other amenity groups have been involved in discussions with the council for the past four years.
Now funding has been agreed by Lewisham Council, there must be an intensive discussion with residents about the details of the scheme.
The need for, and extent of, modern extensions must be considered carefully.
We are urging the council to consult as widely as possible.

Chairman
Lee Manor Society
