I AM puzzled by the suggestion we could pay twice for ID cards.
Surely the Home Office or the individual would have to pay for the production and distribution. I have read nothing of plans to charge both, which would generate even more objections to the initiative.
I carried an ID card for many years and I am not against them. People who do not carry a driving licence could find a formal card an advantage.
I am aware there could be a lot of sensitive information on it but I expect we will soon get used to it.
