SAVE OUR SHOP: A plan to convert Downe's old post office and shop for residential use was refused but the owner has submitted another application. The elderly use unreliable public transport to go to the nearest shopping centre. Downe was the shopping centre for nearby villages 100 years ago. Now we are fighting to keep one shop.

WHAT BENEFITS?: Bromley High Street will get another facelift but what will happen to Orpington High Street? The Tesco development in Orpington has been passed and residents will be inconvenienced during the development. Will monetary benefits go to Bromley, with Orpington the Cinderella yet again?

NO PROOF: The letters claiming speed cameras save lives refer to an independent report for proof. The report they refer to by UCL and PA Consulting was commissioned by the Department for Transport. The report is hogwash and full of mistakes. So much for independent proof.
