For some 35 years from 1927 my late father was an RSPCA Inspector and over those years, often with the assistance of the police and the veterinary profession, he placed very many cruel persons before the magistrates.

He found one of the less appealing features of his job was having to deal, from time to time, with animal cranks holding various views.

From reading your stories regarding foxes, I see that the cranks are thriving.

Also a recent correspondent stated foxes are not aggressive, and will only kill for food'. I think she would have difficulty in convincing those poultry keepers whose premises have had the experience of a visit from a fox.
