YOUR October 1 front page was devoted to the bizarre notion our urban foxes should be hunted to extinction.
Let loose killer dogs on our streets and many more small mammals, including cats, will be killed than now.
Children too will be at risk. I am not sure if anyone saw the cat killings you have reported. If true, it is a harrowing tale but no more distressing to me than the slaughter by domestic cats of hundreds of our songbirds every summer.
While man exists, certain “pests” will flourish with him, whether it is rats, foxes, pigeons, magpies or whatever.
If you do not want them do not put food out.
Secure your bin in your kitchen waste, or compost it in a sealed container.
