IN RESPONSE to Dog Owners Should Clean Up After Pets and Think Of Others (News Shopper, Letters, October 22), there is a simple answer to getting owners to clean up their dog’s excrement.
Simply permit those who have been given a community service order by the courts for graffiti offences to seek out these four-legged offenders and spray them with their aerosol paints, instead of walls and fences.
The grief caused to their owner, as well as the task of cleaning up their pets, will make them think twice about ignoring the mess, the result being cleaner parks and streets, and less risk to children’s health.
